Junior Drafter (JR-DFT)

Overview

We are looking for a talented and motivated Junior Drafter (Architecture) to join our team. In this role, you will assist the Construction and Asset Management teams with design-build projects throughout the portfolio as well as assist the Development and Acquisition teams with due diligence for potential acquisitions.

You will work closely with our project managers, engineers, and contractors on projects ranging from office and residential test-fits to adding amenity spaces to some of our existing assets. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills and gain experience in the architecture and real estate industries.

The position requires ability to survey spaces, draw architectural plans and offer the opportunity to manage projects from initial design through completed construction. Understanding of zoning and 3D modeling skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop architectural drawings with AutoCAD, Revit, and manual processes
  • Conduct site visits to survey and gather information to determine design requirements and produce floor plans
  • Prepare presentations to communicate design ideas to stakeholders
  • Participate in design reviews, construction meetings, and other project-related activities
  • Ensure that designs are compliant with local building codes and regulations
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, building codes, and sustainability practices
  • Produce 3D massing studies with Rhino based on NYC Zoning Resolution

Skills Set & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field
  • Experience in multi-family architecture and/or construction
  • Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD and Rhino (Revit is a plus)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of commonly used architectural concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately and efficiently under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Good communication skills and the ability to present ideas and designs to project team
